Dates: Two tryouts/clinics are open to all players, Junior and Youth age only, in the Midwest Zone. The first will be at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin the weekend of Dec 8-9. The second will be at Rockford HS in Rockford, Michigan the weekend of Dec. 15-16. From these two tryouts/clinics, players will be told after each weekend who will be selected to attend the Midwest final tryout/clinic. Final Midwest Selection tryout/clinic will be at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL the weekend of Jan 5-6. There will be a selection made this weekend as to who will be on the Midwest Zone team. This team will have the opportunity to participated on the following. Potential Training Dates for those who are selected A weekend in Jan, probably 12-13 Times TBD A weekend in Feb, probably 8-10 Times TBD Competitions could include Feb mid to late of month, probably 14-17, in Florida or California IN May ODP Zone Championships and Selection Camp May 24-27 Junior Location: Southern Pacific (Inland Empire) Youth Location: Pacific Southwest May 24 PM Arrival PM Meeting: 5:30-6:00 PM Educational Component 6:00-8:30 May 25 Zone Championships: AM Educational Component: PM Zone Championships: PM May 26 Zone Championships: AM and PM Selection Process for Junior and Youth National Training Camp: PM May 27 Selection Camp for Junior and Youth National Training Camp: AM and PM Announce training camp players: PM Closing: 2:15-2:30 Depart: 2:30 >From this May weekend, there will be some players selected by the National Team staff to participate in the National Training Camp. A National Training Camp - USWP are increasing the numbers for the National Training Camps. Junior: 40 athletes (a minimum of two players per zone) Youth: 52 athletes (a minimum of three players per zone) The camps are for 4-5 days and are scheduled during the week of June 23rd. Junior and Youth National Teams Junior: Common Training with Canada in July Youth: Junior Pan American Championships in late July or early August in South America Back to the rest of the Midwest Zone team opportunities Possibility to train and/or attend tourney on June 20-21 and/or July 11-12 located in Midwest. Final Competition - national tournament for example an AWP Fesitval or USWP JOs This a look at the year to come. Hope this helps with what we are trying to do. Fee- $40 Checks made out Midwest Water Polo All the weekends above are Saturday 3-6pm and Sunday 8-11am. The $40 will be a one time fee for the Dec 8-9, 15-16, and Jan 5-6. So yes, if a player decides to attend more than one or was selected to do so, the fee charged would only be $40.
